Dr r. pr. Mateusz Dróżdż

Matthew Dróżdż, PhD – legal counsel, researcher scientist, including Lazarski University (Assistant Professor in Department of Economic Law). Also, lecturer on International Legal Studies in Salzburg and on postgraduate studies in the field of sports infrastructure management and on affiliated English-language studies organized by Coventry University. He teaches following subjects – Commercial Law, Safety and organization of mass events (in Polish), International Business Law, Commercial Law and Corporate Law (in English). He is a chairman of the Supervisory Board of Cuprum-Med LLC (spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością).
Previously he worked in the international French law firm – Gide Loyrette Nouel. He also worked at the US law firm – McDonald Hopkins in Cleveland. He gained experience at numerous practices, including that in Sołtysiński, Kawecki & Szlęzak – Law Firm and Attorneys LLP (spółka komandytowa), Anthony Gątkowski Legal Counsel Office, or even in the Office for European Integration (currently Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
He received the numerous awards, including the competition – “legal language and modern language” organized by the University of Warsaw and scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Also he received awards in competitions “Nobel Prize for Student” in competition for the best student Polish “Primus Inter Pares” and in completion “my place in Europe”. He graduated the University Łazarski, with one of the best averages in the history of the university. During the studies he received three rector’s diplomas for the best results. His master’s thesis, entitled “Non-performance or improper performance of an obligation and their effects on the basis of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods” received an honorable award in the competition for the best master’s thesis in commercial law in 2011, organized by Wolters Kluwer.
In 2014 he was awarded as a researcher scientist for the scientific results, in 2015 for didactic achievements by rector of the University Łazarski. He is the youngest winner of the Rising Star Competition 2013 organized by Gazeta Prawna. In 2012 he was nominated in competition – lawyer pro brono, organized by the Rzeczpospolita.
In 2015 he completed the legal training at the Warsaw Bar. The entrance exam for that training he passed with one of the highest result in Poland. In 2015 he defended his thesis on “The conclusion of the agreement under the United Nations Convention on international sales contract” under the patronage of Prof. Adam Olejniczak. That PhD thesis was nominated in completion for the best PhD thesis organized by “Państwo i Prawo”.
He completed courses at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Universitat Salzburg, Center for International Legal Skills in Salzburg and the Cambridge School of English. He is a member of the Permanent Group of Experts Sports Events Security Council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is also a member of the International Sport at Staffordshire University and Thompson Rivers University. Former member of the parliamentary committees and subcommittees for the changes to the Law On Mass Events Security. He created of one of the draft of the amendments to Law On Mass Events Security. Author of the commentary to Law On Mass Events Security, legal opinions, evaluations and recommendations in the field of security and organization of mass events.
Author of numerous publications in Polish and English in, inter alia, Rzeczpospolita, Gazeta Prawna, The Warsaw Voice, Education Law, Judicial Review, Monthly Lawyer and for instance The Global Legal Post. In 2012 r. he was co-author of the international report – Doing Business published by World Bank Group.
Speaker at numerous scientific conferences organized, inter alia, by the Jagiellonian University, Wroclaw University, University of Białystok or the University of Warsaw.
He provides the legal advices for a Polish and American entrepreneurs, including sports clubs. He advised in numerous commercial transactions, including one of the largest acquisitions of the Polish company in the history of Polish business, and also he represented the shareholders in the process of redemption of shares, which was one of the largest transactions in the medical market in Lower Silesia in Poland.
